Remarks: Due to wet spring this trial was planted later than usual. Pollination occurred during the hottest week in August. In general, plant populations were higher than desirable, ear heights were high and bushel weights were low. A strong wind on October l6th caused significant lodging in many of the varieties. Fusarium ear rot and common smut were light. Spider mite populations were low throughout the growing season.
